1932 Ford H-Boy Roadster by Bob McGee
Completed in 1948, this roadster was created by noted hot rod builder Bob McGee. Modifications included hidden door hinges, a specially fabricated full-length deck lid, 1946 Pontiac taillifgts, customixed stainless steel Mercury hubcaps, and 1940 Lincoln Zephyr transmission gears. Soon after it was completed, the innovative rod was designated the "Safety Council Roadster" at the first Southern California Timing Association (SCTA) rally and was featured on the cover of Hot Rod magazine. Dick Scritchfield, a subsequent owner, ran this car in the C/Roadster class at Bonneville where it set a record of 165 miles per hour in 1970. The roadster later appeared in several TV series such as Dragnet, 77 Sunset Strip, Happy Days, and Fantasy Island. S0-Cal Speed Shop restored the car to its original configuration in 1999 for its current owner.
