1927 Ford Hot Rod Roadster

This well-executed roadster was built to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first issue of Hot Rod Magazine, which was published in January, 1948. The car was designed to evoke the spirit of the magazine's first cover car which was constructed by Regg Schlemmer in 1947 and driven to the then-high top speed of 136 miles per hour at the El Mitage dry lake. Since the Schlemmer car was dismantled many years ago, this modern interpretation was designed to recapture the look and feel of the original car, but with a more contemporary appearance. This 1927 Ford roadster was was built by renowned hot rod constructor, Roy Brizio, of Brizio's Street Rods in South San Francisco. It is powered by a Ford V-8 equipped with Edelbrock speed equipment.
